ABATANEWS – Di tengah pademi dan lesunya industri box office. Penghargaan film Academy Awards atau Oscar ke-93 tetap digelar pada hari Minggu (25/4/2021) waktu Amerika Serikat atau Senin (25/4/2021) pukul 08.00 WIB.
Film terbaik Oscar 2021 jatuh kepada Nomadland setelah mengalahkan nominator lainnya yakni The Father, Judas and the Black, Messiah, Mank, Minari, Promising Young Woman, Sound of Metal, dan The Trial of the Chicago 7.
Sutradara terbaik dimenangkan oleh Chloé Zhao atas kerja-kerjanya di film Nomadland. Sementara aktor pendukung terbaik dimenangkan oleh Daniel Kaluuya dalam perannya di film Judas and the Black Messiah.

Malam penghargaan Oscar 2021 disiarkan secara langsung dari Union Station Los Angeles dan Dolby Theatre di Hollywood & Highland Center di Hollywood. Oscar tahun ini dihadiri langsung oleh tamu-tamu dalam jumlah terbatas hanya untuk nomine, presenter dan tamu mereka, tanpa aplikasi Zoom.
